Music Cover Art Requirements: What Platforms Actually Need

Cover art is the visual identity of a release. It must be complete, high-resolution, and consistent across every platform.

The minimum specification is 3000 pixels on the longest side, RGB colour space, JPEG or PNG, and no outlines, no watermarks, and no text too small to read on a phone.

Panel art for video platforms is separate from the music cover. The music cover should be square or rectangular. Panel art should be prepared for the specific platform.

The artwork should be checked on a phone before the release ships. A panel that looks fine on a desktop can be unreadable on a phone screen.
