How to Upload Music to Spotify
Spotify is one of the largest streaming platforms, and getting a release on it is a straightforward process when the release is ready.
The release must be delivered to a distribution partner, which then sends it to Spotify. The artist does not upload files directly to Spotify.
The release must have the correct metadata, valid artwork, and the chosen release date. The partner validates the files, checks the artwork, assigns identifiers, and prepares the release.
After deployment, the artist checks the Spotify dashboard. The most useful review is whether the release is showing up correctly, whether the metadata matches the credits, and whether royalties are being reported.
Spotify does not guarantee streams. It is a platform for availability. The artist's work begins when the release is live: checking the reporting, correcting metadata, and promoting the release.
